Grandpa and Grandma Jones

Grandpa and Grandma eating at Beep's home. Grandpa brought the flowers. He grew the sweet peas in his garden in Mesa and they stopped and picked poppies near Miami. It was too dry to have poppies near Virden this year

Daniel

This is Dawnell's son Daniel playing in the mud in Virden. He loved it until he was washed off with the freezing hose water.

Lexington

Monday we walked part of the Freedom trail, where the minutemen and Redcoats fought. Lorin is standing near a historic tavern where some of the colonist's leaders met.

Wampanoag Homesite

This is near Plimoth Plantation. That's me in the purple jacket, freezing. The best part for me was going in the smoky bark homes because it was warm. Actually it was all great

Wampanoag Homesite near Plimoth Plantation. That's me again in my maroon jacket. It was very interesting, but I especially loved getting inside the bark homes, because it was warm.....but smoky.

Plimoth plantation

We are standing near a barn on the Plimoth plantation. Note the thatched roof. People were in period costume. We have ancestors who came over on the Mayflower. James Chilton and his wife died that winter, but their daughter Isabelle came later and we come through her.
Dad enjoyed the animals and outdoors. I loved the history and talking to the "actors". Lori Lyn was a great guide.

Baggage area at Ellis Island

It was cold and windy. We loved the Statue of Liberty. Did you know she is hollow, just about 1/2 inch thick? Ellis Island was also interesting.

New York City

This is Lori Lyn and Mom standing on a rock at Central Park in New York City. We spent the first day seeing Central Park, Times Square and ate at this cute Afganistan restaurant. That evening we saw Broadway show of Lion King. Dad loved taking pictures and wearing his cowboy hat.
